Balochistan, the land of love:
Presented to more than 2000 Indian and foreign students at The Cultural Activity Program held at
Mohammad Baset Dorrazehi, an English Literature (B.A.) student:
Balochistan traces its ancestry to about 15000 years ago. Then it was called Makuran (Mekka), and later became Balochistan. This land is the biggest area in
The erstwhile
The Baloch are proud tribesmen who believe in brotherhood, kinship and family honor. They have an earthy vibrant sense of humor. Yet, a lot of pathos is found in their poetry and literature. They believe in strong fraternal bonds… Balochi women are good partners of their husbands and are fond of gold, silver and fine clothes…
During a Balochi marriage a man has to offer gold to his fiancée and her family… A man may borrow from friends and family to fulfill this norm called the “Bejjaar.” It is in contrast to Indian system of dowry. The Balochi hospitality knows no bounds from a neighbor. The guest is a valued person. His well being is of prime importance to the host… Come to Balochistan and enjoy its hospitality and love… I assure you of that… Thanks for your attention.
